All about the Wine Tour with Lunch in the Vineyard.

Join us and enjoy this WONDERFUL FULL-DAY WINERY EXPERIENCE IN INCREDIBLE SCENERY. We will first take you to MADEIRA’S MOST IMPORTANT VINE EXTENSION, where we plant the vineyard traditionally in a “Latada” (trellised vine) system. Here, we will visit TWO WINE PRODUCERS and combine modernity with tradition: MADEIRA FORTIFIED WINE AND MADEIRA TABLE WINE. We will take you through the entire WINEMAKING, including the history of the ageing process that made Madeira fortified wines famous. Both visits end with a TASTING of their wines. Our last stop will be São Vicente, the iconic village in the island’s northern part. We will VISIT THE VINEYARDS to understand how environmental factors such as soil, microclimate, and farming methods affect the character of Madeira wine. Afterwards, we will welcome you to experience our exquisite cuisine while enjoying the beauty of the vineyards. The 3-COURSE LUNCH INCLUDES AN APÉRITIF AND DIGESTIVE. During this tour, you will discover Madeira wines and the DEMARCATED REGION OF MADEIRA and taste Madeira’s famous fortified wines, white, red and rose table wines, and local rum.

  1. Meeting-point (Departure time) 09:00 - 09:30

    A staff member will pick you up at the indicated place and must validate your voucher identification (You can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity). The tour will begin when we finish collecting all tour members.

    The tour starts at 9:00 and finishes around 17:00

    You will receive an email with location details and a map.

    If you stay in Funchal: you will be picked up at your hotel.

    IF NOT, the meeting point will be by the bus stop in front of the cable car station in the historic centre, in Avenida do Mar, at 9:30 on Thursday.

    Please, arrive 10 minutes earlier.

  6. What do you need to bring? Don’t forget

    We recommend bringing a bottle of water and wearing comfortable shoes. Please bring curiosity and an appetite—You will get plenty of high-quality food to try and local drinks to sample. Also, bring a bag if you’d like to buy goodies to take home!
