Unusual Places to Consider Visiting
From: €26.00
Highlights:
We’ll start our tour by heading to the beautiful viewpoint of PICO DOS BARCELOS. Here, you’ll look at an incredible view of the whole city of Funchal, including the bay and mountains. Next, we’ll drive you to EIRA DO SERRADO through dramatic and spectacular views. Once at the top, you’ll enjoy a stunning sight of the Nun’s Valley and the Central Massif surrounding it. Our next stop will be the Parish of CURRAL DAS FREIRAS (NUN’S VALLEY), considered the most isolated village on the island. The chestnut is one of the most important fruits grown here and is used by the inhabitants to prepare many regional specialities. So don’t miss the opportunity to taste the local delicacies. BOOK YOUR SEAT NOW!
Meet us at the Cable Car bus stop in Funchal if outside the specified areas. Enter “Cable car bus stop” under “Hotel in Madeira or Porto Santo (optional)” at checkout, and we’ll email you the time.

If you’re planning a trip to Madeira Island, you’ll be happy to know that it’s a great destination to visit all year round. The coastal areas have a mild and temperate climate with no extreme weather conditions, while the mountains can be colder, so bring warm clothes if you plan to visit them. It’s also rainier in the winter months, so pack a raincoat or an umbrella. The average temperature ranges from 18C in the winter to 25C in the summer, and the sea temperature remains consistent throughout the year, between 18C to 22C. This is thanks to the warm Gulf Stream that surrounds the island. For tours, dress comfortably and casually with layers of clothing so you can add or remove clothes depending on the weather. Comfortable walking shoes and an all-weather coat are a good idea, too.
Tours operate rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, your Tourist Guide will modify the tour to spend more time indoors. It’s always a good idea to have an umbrella on hand.

We highly recommend this half-day tour. Our guide was very informative, we felt completely safe on the winding roads up into the mountains, the views were breathtaking.
Beautiful tour with stunning views! Lots of nice stops. Our guide shared lots of interesting facts, was friendly and had a lovely sense of humour. I love that we have enough time to discover places and walk by ourselves :) Thanks!
